We work reasonable hours, ensuring we start not too early and finish not too late, so your home is always treated with respect.
* Exterior- There are many options to consider when choosing the exterior finish for a house. It's crucial to protect your home from the elements, especially in areas like Portland, where rain is frequent. We recommend investing in high-quality paint to ensure durability and long-lasting protection.
Selecting the right products, including the proper sheen, is essential. For Portland's rainy climate, we suggest using a satin finish and mold inhibitors. If you’re working in lower temperatures, consider using cold-weather paint for optimal results. We highly recommend Behr Premium Plus from Home Depot, which has consistently been rated as the best-performing exterior paint in the nation by Consumer Reports, outperforming both Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams.
Before starting your project, trim any shrubs or tree branches that touch the house. Also, move items near or against the house, such as BBQs, tools, landscaping equipment, and storage sheds. Proper preparation is crucial for a successful paint job.
Before applying paint, the surface should be thoroughly cleaned, properly primed, and all gaps should be caulked. We use premium elastomeric caulking, which provides superior flexibility and durability. Additionally, using wood filler and spackle in the appropriate areas ensures a smooth and even finish. If there is any peeling paint, it must be scraped off before painting.
To protect your landscaping, cover plants, shrubs, and small trees as needed. We take extra care to avoid stepping on flowers or damaging shrubs. The application process involves applying two coats of paint, with back brushing and/or rolling for a consistent finish.
Once the painting is complete, we make sure to clean the yard thoroughly and remove all garbage and debris.
